Renata Freccero is a professor at the S.U.I.S.M. University of Turin.
She is the author of various articles, essays and narratives. She won the G.
Gronchi X Pontremoli sport section literature prize - Pisa 1996 with the
work Sport and Society. In 2001 she won the A. Manzoni literary essays
section literature prize in Rome with the reissue of Girolamo Mercuriali’s
“De ARTE Gymnastica” reviewed notes and comments. In June 2001 she
was awarded the III “Liguria Maestrale” Sestri Levante-Genova essay
section literature prize with the reissue of Edmondo De Amicis’ “Amore e
Ginnastica.” She has also been responsible for putting together the
following art exhibits: The Italian Olympic Spirit - Eastern and Western
Communication Signs, XXIX Olympic Games, Beijing C.O.N.I. Italian
House 2008, Eternologie, XVI Games of the Mediterranean Pescara, Italian
House CONI 2009 testimonial to the event Mrs. Gina Lollobrigida; Italian
Olympic Spirit - To Educate to interculture and peace, XXI Winter Olympic
Games, Vancouver, C.O.N.I. Italian House 2010. She also took care of the
pre World Cup 2010 Art Exhibit: Football, an Italian educational pathway to
Sport Culture.
Tradition and Innovation - Italian Olympic Spirit has received the Medal
Award of the President of the Italian Republic.
Italian Olympic Spirit - To Educate to interculture and peace XXI Winter
Olympic Games, Vancouver, C.O.N.I. Italian House 2010. She received a
letter from the General Secretary of the Italian Republic Presidency in
which the Head of State, Giorgio Napolitano, expressed the following
words, “The enormous undertaking in carrying out this cultural initiative
will lend a hand in stimulating the thoughts of visitors, who come from
different countries, on the value of loyalty, solidarity, brotherhood and
reciprocal respect giving life to and regulating every sporting competition
and in particular that of the Olympic Games.
Eastern and Western Communication Signs, XXIX Olympic Games, Beijing
C.O.N.I. Italian House 2008 received the High Patronage of the Presidency
of the Cabinet.
